Men and gods in Mongolia book those who are familiar with mythology, I think this book is pretty much old-hat, but for anyone who may have learned a bit in high-school and hasn't bothered with the subject since, this book is a good one to read because quite a few of the stories are seldom told and certainly worth reading. The description of his travels during the Russian Civil War and the campaigns led by the Bloody Baron became a striking success and a bestseller. However, he also proved to be an exceptional military commander, and his forces grew rapidly. Ungern, however, saw this as an opportunity to implement his monarchistic plan.
